To ensure success of the program and for the utmost benefit of the students, we select students who share our believes and values.
We seek 10th grade students who have consistently demonstrated excellence in their past academic performance, exhibit leadership potential, aspire to give back to the community, and strive to make an impact on society.
The selection process starts in January with a preliminary test. TLS approaches the principals of local Telgu medium government schools. We introduce TLS to them, explain our program, clarify what we are looking for in a candidate, and solicit their recommendations.
Then, we offer the preliminary test to the students, with superior academic performance since Grade 7th till date, recommended by the school principals. The test is a short, 60 minute, test, which contains behavioral questions that allow us to assess their fit with our program.
Soon after the candidates complete the 10th pre-exam and the results are available, they are short listed based on their past academic records (7th to 10th grade), performance on the school pre-exam, and the TLS preliminary test evaluation. These select students are invited to appear for another round of testing and an interview. The test and the interview evaluate their IQ, logical aptitude, and other psychological variables. We also explain the TLS program to the candidates and their parents in greater detail.
Based on the test results and interview, select students are offered provisional admittance to the program. The offer is confirmed provided the students perform well on the 10th grade board exams (above 90 %) and they agree to enroll.
